The documentary “180° South” describes the breathtaking journey into the heart of Patagonia.  The director of the film Chris Malloy with the assistance of Woodshed Films created a really fascinating story, which can be characterized as epic for the 1968 year, where it took place.
Jeff Johnson is an adventurer, who follows the steps of two travelers – Doug Tompkins and Yvon Chouinard on this full of danger but very beautiful way. 1968 the ship he travels by experiences a shipwreck. Having reached the shore of the Easter Island after surfing the longest wave, Jeff is going to climb Cerro Corcovado. Preparations for the ascent take some time for Johnson, but soon he is on his way up to the mountains. The meeting with two heroes in Patagonia, on the rainy hut of Cerro Corcovado becomes a significant point for his journey as well as for his life.
The mission of Yvon and Doug to Patagonia has its own reasons. Being the great admirers of wild nature of the country, keen climbers and surfers, the heroes have come here in order to enjoy and protect the primeval beauty of Patagonia.
The documentary is well provided by the picturesque scenes of flora and fauna of Patagonia, including the beautiful shots of mountainous slopes and peaks of Cerro Corcovado.Начало формы
