“Prodigal Sons” is a personal documentary, produced by Kimberly Reed. Being a transsexual, she returns home to join her high school classmates in Montana. At the same time she hopes to establish good relations with her adopted brother Marc, who estranged himself from his sister long ago.
The film travels all over the world for about a year and causes many astonishing disclosures and        unpredictable turns of the plot, keeping the viewer in constant suspence. The family of Kimberly has to encounter the number of difficulties, not every family could overcome. That’s an increased tension between brothers and sisters for one, a blood relationship with Rita and Orson for second and many others. Still the documentary has played a great role in holding together many of the participants in the movie, including Kimberly’s mother, Orson’s soulmate Oja, puzzled highschool mates, local farmers and Montana prison chaplains.
The theatrical release of “Prodigal Sons” won a lot of special prizes on the Documentary Film Festivals as the most bravery documentary and outstanding filmmaking.  It was awarded as the Best Documentary at New York's Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and Copenhagen's LGBT Film Festival.
