Berman shows us not only a sexual star, loved by and infatuated with lots of beautiful women, but the extraordinary person with controversial style of life. The filmmaker offers a deep sight into Hefner’s life with his fights over sexual freedom, abortion rights, First Amendment rights, social justice, censorship and many others.
The documentary provides the audience with numerous interviews and rare snapshots of Hefner, most of which was taken from his own voluminous archives. Besides, the film offers the curious interviews with such celebrities as George Lucas, Joan Baez, Jesse Jackson, Tony Bennett, James Caan and Jim Brown.
